GINGER AND TURMENIC: HOW TO GROW THEM INTO A VERTICAL FARM?
1 min 01 sec
Alessandro Algeri
In a first phase, the plants are analysed in detail to understand how to optimize their life and growth cycle in order to obtain the maximum amount of active ingredients possible. To better analyze the perfect climate, the plants are placed in specific display cases within our laboratories, so as to be perfectly ready for introduction into the plants in Vertical Farm.

In our displays we also study seedlings from micropropagation, such as ginger, turmeric and rhizomes in general. Following a careful cultivation monitoring, the rhizome is sent to our laboratories to know in detail the characteristics of the active entailed ingredients and to gather certain data to build our cultivation protocols.
HOW TO MANAGE THE BALSAMIC HARVESTING TIME

Each plant species has its own specific balsamic harvesting time that is the time when the concentration of active ingredients is the greatest inside the plant. This moment varies according to various factors that with the Cultipharm method we are able to study and optimize in order to make them constant and reproducible between one production cycle and the next one.

The environment of the Vertical Farm allows to have full control of the nutrient solution, humidity, temperature and light flow, so as to obtain healthy and resistant plants and a microclimate that is not suitable for the development of fungal diseases. Thanks to this technology, Cultipharm works on the principle of prevention, eliminating the use of plant protection products.
